Procedures

There are various dermatological procedures or surgery that are being done as office procedures for minor dermatological diseases or conditions. Here are some that we perform in the clinic:

I. FACIALS

Facial is a great way to take care of the skin. It cleanses, exfoliates,  and nourishes the skin to promote clear, well-hydrated skin. It is a popular skin treatment because it also provides relaxation.

Here are the steps involved in doing a facial:

1. Cleansing with a sponge using a mild cleansing lotion.
2. Exfoliation using a mechanical device and deep cleansing and exfoilating cream
3. Massage using strokes like effleurage, petrissage, tapotement and shiatsu. Massage relax and stimulates the muscles and improve circulation.
4. Application of mask. We use different masks in the clinic like clay mask  for acne-prone skin,  whitening mask to aid in lightening the skin, Vit.C, collagen and a line of Casmara mask  to combat aging.
5. Steam favor is directed toward the face to open up the pores in preparation fot the next step.
6. Comedone extraction to remove whiteheads and blackheads

The facials that we perform are basic facial, fruit acid facial (glycolic) and executive facial.

II. ELECTROCAUTERY

electrocautery
Electrocauterization (or electrocautery) is a safe procedure that is routinely used in dermatology to remove unwanted tissues such as warts, moles, syringoma, etc. A small probe with an electric current running through it is used to burn or destroy the tissue.

III. APPLICATION OF LOCAL ANESTHESIA

application of anesthetic cream
Local anesthesia is the application of anesthetic drug to a specific area of the body. This is being done to alleviate pain during dermatological procedures/surgery such as electrocautery, dermabrasion, laser procedures, biopsy and before injection of some medicines.

IV. INTRADERMAL INJECTION

intradermal injection
Intradermal injection is the delivery of medicine into the intradermal layer of the skin. This kind of injection is being used in dermatology for skin testing of injectable medicines, to treat local inflammation, such as in pimples, to flatten keloidal scars and lichenified areas of the skin.

V. ACNE TREATMENT

TCA application
This is the kind of office-treatment that we provide for our patients. it is generally recommended for patients with moderate to severe acne (nodulocystic). This what we call Glycolic peel. It shortens the duration of treatment than with topical and oral medicines alone.

VI. SCLEROTHERAPY

sclerothrapy

Sclerotherapy is a procedure used to treat blood vessels or blood vessel malformations (vascular malformations) and also those of the lymphatic system. A medicine is injected into the vessels, which makes them shrink. It is used for children and young adults with vascular or lymphatic malformations. In adults, sclerotherapy is often used to treat varicose veins and hemorrhoids.

It will be interesting to see the before and after pictures and some comments from patients. How about some insights on derma fillers, whitening products, anti-aging hormone replacements and costs
